These two methods aren't really competing for the same job — they're suited to different situations.
Steam Cleaning
Steam (hot water extraction) forces heated water and cleaning solution deep into carpet fibers, then extracts it along with the dirt and pollutants it lifted. Most carpet manufacturers recommend it as the standard for a genuine deep clean, since nothing else reaches as deep into the padding underneath.
The tradeoff: carpets take longer to dry, and steam cleaning too frequently can add wear over time — it's meant to be periodic, not constant.
Dry Cleaning
Dry carpet cleaning uses minimal moisture and a cleaning compound that's worked into the carpet and then vacuumed out along with the dirt it absorbed. It dries almost immediately, which makes it well-suited to maintenance cleaning between deep cleans, especially in commercial spaces that can't be closed off to dry.
Which One Do You Need?
If it's been over a year, there are pet stains or odors, or anyone in the home has allergies, steam cleaning is the better call. For upkeep between those deeper cleans, dry cleaning keeps carpet looking fresh without the downtime.
Our carpet & upholstery cleaning service uses the method suited to your specific carpet, stains, and schedule — not a one-size-fits-all approach.
